Guy H. Spinks, 81, of Stanton, died on Wednesday, October 13, 2004, at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, October 15, 2004 at the First Baptist Church of Stanton with Rev. David Harp, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM at the funeral home.He was born on April 3, 1923, in Coolidge, Texas and married Bernie Lou Hamilton on September 22, 1945 in Ft. Worth.He was a member of Berea Baptist Church of Big Spring.Mr. Spinks was a graduate of Stanton High School. He served in the Army Air Corp from 1942-1946. His highest rank was Staff Sergeant and he served in the American Theatre during World War II. Guy had worked for Gulf Oil and Superior Oil and worked as a building contractor for forty years before retiring in 1987. He owned and operated Guy's Restaurant from 1985-1999. Working was his passion. When he was not working he enjoyed yard work, watching the Dallas Cowboys and taking trips to Las Vegas.Survivors include his wife, Bernie Lou Spinks of Stanton; two sons and daughters-in-law, Danny Glenn and Joni Spinks of Horseshoe Bay, and Tracey Lee and Sheryl Spinks of Stanton; three daughters, Lou A. Pearson, Jeannine S. Celey and her husband Tim Cain, and Stacey Faye Spinks, all of Midland; one sister, Mildred Fraser of Midland; five grandchildren, Jared Spinks of Austin, Jennifer Spinks of Midland, Taylor Spinks , Kali Spinks, and, Kenzi Spinks all of Stanton; and one great grandchild, Maci Spinks of Midland. He was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters, and ten brothers.The family suggests memorials be made to Home Hospice of Midland, 901 W.
