Guy Carrol Hodnett

Guy Carrol Hodnett, age 83 of Big Spring, Texas passed away on Sunday, October 10, 2021. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00am Friday, October 15, 2021 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 7:00pm to 8:00pm on Thursday, October 14, 2021 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home.

He was born December 4, 1937 in Big Spring, Texas to Lanham Brown and Mary Lois (Guffee) Hodnett. He married Peggy Lendermon on March 3, 1962.

Guy loved working in the oil field where he worked most of his life. He treasured his family and friends. Guy’s favorite past times included spending time with loved ones, tending and feeding his cows, and taking care of his land, his pecan trees and hunting.

Guy is survived by the love of his life, Peggy Hodnett, of 59 years. He is also survived by his two sons: Michael Hodnett of Big Spring; Lyle and Terri Hodnett of Pottsboro. Three grandchildren: Austin of Corpus Christi; Ty of Pottsboro; Katy of Pottsboro; and his honorary grandson, Matthew Blakeney of Forsan.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Butch and sister Mary Ann.

Pallbearers will be Ty Hodnett, Austin Hodnett, Dean Hodnett, Darrell Hodnett, Robert Baker, and Brandon Sanders.

Honorary pallbearers are Joe Pat Harden, Marty Kirkpatrick, Jackie Lendermon, Sam Lendermon, James Sanders, Steve Wolf, and Waylon Wolf.
