Gussie Watkins, 85, of Big Spring, passed away Thursday, April 30, 2015 in a local hospital. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, May 4, 2015 at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with Dr. Randy Cotton, pastor of Trinity Baptist Church, officiating. Gussie Watkins was my great grandmother. I called her nanny. She always let me come to her house and play with the fruit that was on the table. The day after she passed I didn’t believe she was gone. I was four at the time. We went over to her house and we had always played hide and seek together so of course I thought this was a game. I called her name and looked throughout the house over and over again but to my disappointment did not find her. Finally I realized later on that she was gone. We had so much fun and she will be greatly missed. A couple of days before my mom and dads wedding was when she had passed and the dress she was supposed to wear had come in the mail the day she passed She had been so worried about the dress that we put it on her and buried her in it. I always loved her and always will love her. She will be greatly missed.
