Gus W. Jacobs, Sr., 85, of Coahoma, died on Tuesday, February 10, 2009, in a Midland hospital. Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, February 12, 2009 at the Coahoma Cemetery, Coahoma with Russ Mullins, officiating and Eddy Pitchford, assisting. The family will receive friends from 7:30 PM to 8:30 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. He was born on May 11, 1923, in Indian Gap, Texas and married Georgia Mae Simpson on August 5, 1950 in Colorado City, Texas. She preceded him in death on June 16, 1999.Gus was raised in Indian Gap and came to Coahoma in 1965. He was a truck driver and rancher most of his life before retiring. He was a member of the Coahoma Church of Christ. Survivors include three daughters and two sons-in-law, Andeen Halbrook of Woodville, Alabama, Beverley and Jon Scribner of Big Spring, and Darlene and Bill Gressett of The Colony; one son and daughter-in-law, Wayne and Teresa Jacobs of Coahoma; seven grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his parents; one sister and one grandson, Tybo Jacobs. The family suggests memorials be made to Coahoma Church of Christ, P.O.
