Gus ‘Ronny’ Bowles, 75, was surrounded by his family when he went home to be with the Lord on October 6, 2014. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2014 at 3:00pm at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Chapel. Honorary pallbearers for the service will be Ronny’s four grandchildren, Kayla, Ty, Shane, and Chad.Ronny was born on June 29, 1939 in Pecos, Texas to Gus and Flora Bowles. After his father’s death, his mother married Dee Culp and the two shared the rest of their lives together until their passing. On July 24, 1959, Ronny married his high school sweetheart, Patsy Jackson. Together the couple raised 3 children, Jana, Don, and Rhonda. Ronny was an incredibly hard worker and thrived at his job as manager and part owner of Balmorhea Feeders. He loved his job and going to work every day. The family lived in Pecos all of their lives until recently when they moved to Midland. Ronny lived his life in the light of the lord and was a long-time member of First United Methodist Church of Pecos. He enjoyed travelling with his family, sharing his wisdom with his grandchildren, and was a strong believer that ‘your children are always your children’. He was an incredibly loving husband, father, and grandfather. Ronny will be forever remembered for being caring, loving, and supportive- if he agreed on the matter. He was always the first one to do anything for someone in need and he always had a plan right up until his last few weeks. He was a very good man and will be deeply missed by all that knew him.Ronny is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Patsy Bowles; daughter, Jana Bowles; son, Don Bowles and his wife, Karla; daughter, Rhonda Golliher and her husband, Paul; sister, Deeana Rushing; grandchildren, Kayla Golliher, Ty Golliher, Shane Bowles, and Chad Bowles; sister-in-law, Jeanne Erwin; and numerous friends. He is preceded in death by his father, Gus Bowles; mother, Flora Culp; step-father, Dee Culp; and sister, Judy Barnickel. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to St. Jude’s Children Hospital, www.stjude.org, MD Anderson Center, www.mdanderson.org, or a charity of choice.Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Midland.
