Grover McKnight, 77, of Big Spring, died on Saturday, September 6, 2008, in a Big Spring nursing home. Graveside funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Tuesday, September 9, 2008 at Mt. Olive Memorial Park with Chaplain Walter McCall of Compass Hospice, officiating. He was born on June 7, 1931, in Jacksonville, Texas and married Ila Mae Powell in 1997 in Stanton, Texas. She preceded him in death on February 24, 2008.Grover came to Big Spring in 1993 and worked as a truck driver throughout his life. He was a Baptist.Survivors include one son, Dennis N. McKnight of Dallas; two sisters, Elsie "Pinky" Sadler of Groves and Betty "Sue" Wright of Jacksonville; two step sons, Dwayne Powell and wife, Neysa of Irving and Wayland Powell and wife, Nell of Big Spring; two grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
