Grady Brown, 90, of Big Spring, died on Sunday, October 20, 2002, in a local nursing home. Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM Wednesday, October 23, 2002, at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with Ralph Anderson, minister of Birdwell Lane Church of Christ, officiating. Graveside services will be at 3:00 PM Wednesday at Mertzon Cemetery, Mertzon, Texas. He was born on March 29, 1912 in Ballinger, Texas and married Marie Rowland on October 17, 1981 in Big Spring, Texas. Grady had farmed in the San Angelo area and owned and operated Brown's Pool from 1952 until moving to Big Spring in 1981. Mr. Brown was a member of the Birdwell Lane Church of Christ and had been a member of Johnson Street Church of Christ in San Angelo for many years. He had served in the United States Navy. Survivors include his wife, Marie Rowland Brown of Big Spring; a son, Robert Brown and wife, Barbara, of Big Lake; two daughters, Mary Beth Daugherty and husband, Erwin, of Quinlin and Mina Fitting of Midland; a step-son, Rufus Rowland and wife, Lupe, of Big Spring; a step-daughter, Barbara Haynes of Big Spring; a sister, Gladys Scroggins of San Angelo; 16 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Lillie Thompson Brown in 1966. The family suggests memorials to: Lubbock Christian Childrens Home, P.O.
