Grady Bernice Tindol, 83, of Coahoma, Texas, passed from this life at his residence on Thursday, November 3, 2005. He was born on October 4, 1922, in Terral, Oklahoma to Robert and Gertrude Tindol. Grady attended school at Coahoma and Union Valley, graduating from Union Valley in 1942. Grady proudly served his country as a soldier in the United States Army during World War II. He returned from his service and began his college career at Southeastern University in Durant, Oklahoma. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Algebra and a minor in Physics. He received a Master's Degree in Administration in 1954 at Oklahoma A & M in Stillwater. Grady began his teaching career in Union Valley, Oklahoma. He then moved to Coahoma where he taught and coached at Coahoma High School for many years, touching the lives of countless students and athletes. He then worked at Stanton High School before returning to Coahoma to work as Business Manager.He met Ola Sue Buchanan in 1953, and they joined together in marriage on December 27, 1954. Together they had three sons, Timothy Grady, Robbie Kirk and Charles Sam. They added a daugher, Sharon Phyllis to their family in 1975. Grady served as a deacon and an elder at the Coahoma Church of Christ for 21 years, lovingly carrying on the Lord's work. He retired from educaton in 1982, and began to spend time enjoying his hobbies and his favorite pastime, fising, which he shared with family and friends.Grady was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, Waldo, J. L, Dick and Robert; and two sisters, Valaree Blaylock and Alma Patton. He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 51 years, Ola Sue Buchanan Tindol of Coahoma; three sons, Timothy and wife, Jennie, of Coahoma, Robbie and wife, Julie, of Early and Charles of Abilene; one daughter, Sharon McCarty and husband, Wayne, of Maypearl. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, Adam Tindol of Coahoma, Cassie and Paul Lewis of Amarillo, Sam Tindol of San Angelo, Cole Tindol of Early, Kendra and Kaylin Tindol of Lubbock, Jay, Victoria, Tyson and Rebecca Tindol of Abilene and Payton and Parker McCarty of Maypearl; three great grandchildren, Dyllan and Kailey Tindol of Coahoma and Hunter Tindol of Midland. Other survivors include one brother & sister-in-law, Doc and Myrt Tindol of Big Spring; two sisters-in-law, Dora Lee Tindol of Big Spring and Betty Tindol of Ryan, Oklahoma.Grady will be laid to rest at Trinity Memorial Park in Big Spring, following memorial services at the Coahoma Church of Christ at 10:00 AM Monday, November 7, 2005 with Russ Mullins, minister, officiating.The family will receive friends at their residence at 12703 Old Colorado City Highway.The family suggest memorials to: Christian Homes of Abilene, PO Box 270, Abilene, TX 79604 or Odyssey Hospice, 1003 E.
