Gloria was born January 3rd, 1942, in Colorado City, TX to Guy and Laura Thomas. She moved to Howard County in 1944. She graduated from Coahoma High School in 1960 and Drones Business College in December of 1960. Gloria met the love of her life Billy Sanders in 1962 and they were married on October 3, 1963.
She absolutely thought the world of her family and all her friends she thought of as family. She loved to spend her time chasing grandkids or talking on the phone. Gloria retired from Coahoma ISD after 30 years of service. She was a die-hard Coahoma Bulldog fan and would follow them anywhere just to watch a ballgame. While working at Coahoma she touched the lives of many. She made them feel special and like one of her own.
Survivors include her son James and wife Michele, daughter Sue and husband Frankie, brother Ted and wife Sharon, grandchildren Brandon and wife Jennifer, Nichele and husband Samuel, Katelynn, Haley and husband Harrison, Holden and great grandchildren Bannon, Elizabeth and Stella. As well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband Billy Sanders, two infant daughters Patty Lea and Susan Elaine, her parents, brother Max Thomas and granddaughter Kayla.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Mitchell County Hospital.
