Glenna Maxfield, 84, of Crane, passed away on Thursday, August 25, 2005, at the Crane Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. Private graveside services will be held at a later date. She was born on December 7, 1920, in Elk City, Oklahoma and married Ralph F. Maxfield on April 25, 1943 in Walters, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death in February of 1991. She received her private pilot's license in 1943 and also owned her own dance studio for children. Later she became a beautician and met her husband, Ralph in Lawton, Oklahoma. She retired in 1956 to become a full time mother and housewife. Glenna was a member of First Baptist Church in Odessa and was head of the deaf ministry with her husband there for many years. Later they became members of Temple Baptist Church in Odessa. She was the most loving mother, wife, grandmother and friend and loved the Lord with all her heart. Survivors include one son, Gary Maxfield of Arlington; two daughters, Lynda Lawrence of Midland, and Melodee Overton of Odessa, six grandchildren and five great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Jack & Cora Shafer, a sisiter, Lois Cupp and one grandaughter, Amy Sanderson.
