Glenn Daython Madison, age 83, of Stanton, TX, passed away Thursday, September 29, 2022. The family will receive friends from 4pm to 7pm, Sunday, October 2, 2022 at Gilbreath Funeral Home in Stanton. Graveside Services will be held at 10am, Monday, October 3, 2022 at Evergreen Cemetery Chapel.
Glenn was born to Claudine and EP Madison on December 17, 1938, in Colorado City, Texas. He grew up in Stanton and graduated from Stanton High School in 1956. Glenn met and married the love of his life, Ann Hanson, in 1957. They went on to have three boys. Glenn attended The University of Texas in Austin and graduated with a degree in Pharmacy. He worked as a pharmacist in Levelland, Stanton and Colorado City before purchasing his own pharmacy in Roscoe – all before the age of 30. Glenn and Ann raised their family in Roscoe, where Glenn was a Deacon in the Church of Christ. They returned to Stanton in 1980, were Glenn enjoyed a 25+ year career with Albertsons. He was dedicated to his family, his church, as well as the hundreds of customers that he served.
Glenn was also extremely generous and charitable, valuing education and learning. Glenn provided aid to many, in order to pursue degrees and specialty training so that they could advance their personal and professional goals. He was committed to supporting those in need. He contributed to The New Mexico Christian Children’s Home each year and encouraged others to do so. After retiring, Glenn was involved with Meals on Wheels and the Stanton Church of Christ.
Ann passed in 2006, after a hard-fought battle with breast cancer. Glenn married Glynda Quaid September 19, 2011 and they remained married until his death. He was a proud husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.
Glenn was preceded in death by his parents, Claudine and EP, his first wife Ann, brothers-in-law Anthony Hanson and Bobby Hanson and Uncle Harlen Barber.
He is survived by his wife Glynda Madison, his son Greg and wife Cheryl, son Jeff and wife Diana, son Randy and wife Allison and grandchildren – Misty Mabry and husband Chris, Tiffany Carson and husband Josh, Andrew Madison and wife Jenna, Taylor Madison, Ryan Madison, Sam Madison, Nicole Davis and husband Cody, Katelin Chelette and husband Chris and Grayson Rush. As well as two nephews and eight great grandchildren, Glynda’s children and grandchildren.
Glenn’s life was filled with love and faith.
