Glenda Sue Power passed away on January 18, 2021 in Midland, Texas, after bravely facing complications from cancer. Glenda was born in Paint Rock, Texas, to Robert W. and Margie L. Johnson on June 16, 1936. She grew up in Pasadena, Texas, graduating from Pasadena High School.
Glenda was a beautiful, artistic, and engaging woman. She loved playing the piano and organ and kept one or both musical instruments in her home throughout her life. Glenda was a member of several church communities over the years, where she shared her love of music by playing piano and singing with the choirs. In 1972, Glenda moved to Midland and pursued a career as a real estate broker with Bunnie Kent Real Estate, as well as serving as an interior design consultant for area home builders. Later in life, Glenda expressed her artistic abilities through the art of dance. Glenda greatly enjoyed her time as a member of the “Groovy Grannies” tap dancing group at the Bingham Dance Studio. Her many friends in Midland will remember her performing with this group in the Summer Mummers melodramas. She could dance a mean soft shoe!
