Glenda Cox Gill, 99, of Garden City, died Sunday, November 11, 2018 in a local nursing home. Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, November 15, 2018 at the Garden City Cemetery, Garden City, Texas.A visitation will be Wednesday, November 14, 2018 from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM at the funeral home.She was born in Comanche County Feb. 13, 1919 to Birl and Sarah Cox. The family moved to Scurry County and Glenda graduated Hermleigh High School in 1936.She met Vernon Gill in Sterling County in 1935 and they married Mar. 17, 1937. In 1945 they moved to Garden City where they owned and operated the local drug store from 1952 to 1972 and ranched. Known for her humor, she loved dancing and gardening.Survivors include one daughter, Marceline Wright and husband, Harold of Euless; two sons, Waymon Gill of Bandera, and Van Gill of San Marcos; three grandsons, Tracy Gill, Eric Wright and Steven Wright; two great-granddaughters, Brooke and Mallory Gill; and one great-grandson, Dylan Wright.She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Gill; her parents; five sisters; three brothers; and daughter-in-law, Virginia Graves Gill.Arrangements under the direction of Nalley-Pickle and Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Big Spring.
