Gerald Peter DiGrappa, 93, of Big Spring, died Saturday, February 21, 2015 at his residence. A vigil service will be 7:00 PM Monday, February 23, 2015 at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel. Funeral Mass will be at a later date in Norman, Oklahoma under the direction of Havenbrook Funeral Home. Interment will be at St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery in Norman, Oklahoma.He was born June 29, 1921 in Maynard, Massachusetts and married Mary Maxine Clark December 23, 1950 in Norman, Oklahoma.Gerald served in the United States Marine Corps during World War II. He worked for the Department of Health, Education and Welfare for seven years and for the Veterans Administration Medical Center for 45 years, with the last 25 years in Big Spring.He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Parish.Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Mary DiGrappa of Big Spring; two brothers, Frank DiGrappa of Denver, Colorado and Tino DiGrappa of Maynard, Massachusetts; two sisters, Yolanda Ferzoco of Millis, Massachuetts and Sylvia Hodge of Springfield, Massachusetts; and numerous nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents, Luigi DiGrappa and Mary Louise Perrota DiGrappa; one sister, Mary Ganong; and one brother, Joseph DiGrappa.Arrangements under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Big Spring.
