George Eric Eng, Sr.. 90 passed away peacefully on Friday, April 29, 2016. George was surrounded by friends and family during this time. George had suffered from Heart disease and Parkinson's disease for many years. George spent the last two years residing with his youngest son, Kelly, at his residence here in Midland, TX. George received the best care giving services available during this time with Hospice of Midland, and his care giver Ana Pena. George Sr. was born on April 22, 1926 in Englewood New Jersey just outside of New York City to the parents of Gabriell and Swan Eng. George graduated from Englewood High School, he then served his country in World War II in the United States Air Force from 1944-1946, Honorable Discharge at the rank of Sargeant. He then went to Duke University where he received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in 1951. He was a member of the Epsilon Nu Chapter of the Sigma Chi Fraternity. He also attended Harvard University Business School, The University of Texas International Correspondence School, The Sale Analysis Institute, he was also a substitute teacher at Midland College. He was President of the Boy Scouts of America, West Texas Chapter from 1982-1984. He also received highest award for distinguished service to youth in the Boy Scouts of America. \The Silver Beaver Award\ on January 27, 1978. He was also a Director of the Permian Basin Oil & Gas Show for many years. George and his late wife Gloria came to Midland in the early 1950's where they worked and raised four children. George worked in sales for the Western company, he was a crude oil buyer for the Permian Corporation he was employed at Basin Inc. as Vice President of Marketing New Mexico, West Texas, and Oklahoma before becoming an Independent Oil & Gas Operator/Producer in 1990 which continues today. Throughout the years George and Gloria were member of the Midland Ranchland Hills, Midland Country Club, Green Tree Country Club, The Petroleum Club of Midland, since 1962 to present, and most importantly The First United Methodist Church of Midland. George was preceded in death by his parents, a son, George Jr., a daughter, Susan and his wife of 58 years Gloria. George is survived by his two sons Bryan and Kelly Eng, both of Midland, grandchildren Georgia Dakil and her husband David of Midland, Erich Foster, Midland, 3 great great grandchildren, Gunner Foster of Midland, Landan Charles Dakil and Olivia Kay Dakil of Midland; sister, Connie Tepe and husband Lou of Littleton, CO. two nieces Donna Garton of CA. and Gail Taylor of Las Vegas, NV. The family ask that in lieu of flowers that on gives to their favorite charity or the American Heart Association or the Parkinson's disease Foundation.A special thanks to The Veterans Administration in Big Spring, TX.
