George Ann Pollard, 77, of Midland passed away on Wednesday, August 8, 2007 at her home, after a short illness.Funeral services have been scheduled for Saturday, August 11, 2007 at Golf Course Road Church of Christ in Midland with Ronnie White, officiating. Graveside services and burial will be at Hope Cemetery in Henrietta, Texas at 2:00pm, Sunday, August 12, 2007. Pallbearers will be Todd Wilson, T.E. Gill, Willie Goodeau, Francis McDonald, Ed Carnes and Mark Gower. Visitation will be Friday, August 10, 2007 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory in Midland.George Ann was born September 13, 1929 in Wichita Falls to George Peter Graner and Jesse Letyse (Burkett) Graner. She grew up in Clay County, Texas and graduated from high school in Henrietta in 1947. She attended Texas Tech University and on November 24, 1949 was married to Bryan Pollard. She worked as a secretary while he finished college. They lived in Japan, Kansas, New Mexico, and since 1959, have lived at home in Midland, Texas. She was a charter member of Golf Course Road Church of Christ and for many years was active in Bible teaching, benevolence, foster care and Meals on Wheels. George Ann enjoyed playing bridge and loved her children and grandchildren. She will be remembered for her ever-present smile, encouraging spirit, gentle nature and her kindness to everyone.She is survived by her husband, Bryan of the home; their four daughters, Cheryl Ann Cipriani and her family of Temple, Texas, Susan Kaye Paulson and her family of Downers Grove, Illinois, Barbara Dianne Tatom and her family of Abilene, Texas, Vickie Darlene Campbell and her family of Midland, Texas; their son, Thomas Ross Pollard and his family of Knoxville, Tennessee; her sister, Betty Jordan of Paducah, Texas; twelve grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
