Geneva McNew

Geneva McNew, 80, of Stanton, formerly of Big Spring, died on Friday, September 20, 2002, in a Stanton nursing home. Funeral services will be at 4:00 PM Saturday, September 21, 2002, at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with Ralph Anderson, minister at Birdwell Lane Church of Christ, officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.     She was born on July 22, 1922 in Stephens County, Oklahoma and married Wayne McNew on July 3, 1943 in Big Spring, Texas. He preceded her in death on June 13, 1995.      She had lived at Cantebury until December of 2001 and enjoyed crafts.     Mrs. McNew was a member of the Church of Christ.     Survivors include two granddaughters, Debbie Overby of Midland and Wanona Gagnard of Boyce, Louisiana; five great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Avis Powell.     She was also preceded in death by one daughter, three sisters and three brothers.     The family suggests memorials to the donors favorite charity or to Birdwell Lane Church of Christ, P.
