Geneva Campbell Turner long-time resident of Midland, Texas, departed this life on January 27, 2013. Geneva was born August 6, 1922 in Randlett, Oklahoma to parents Bessie Doss Campbell (1895-1981) and L. O. Campbell (1891-1953), both of whom predeceased her. The family moved from Randlett to Burkburnett, Texas in 1927, where her father owned a grocery store/service station. Geneva graduated from Burkburnett high school in 1939 and attended Draughans Business College in Wichita Falls, Texas, and later Cameron University in Lawton, Oklahoma. She married John Edwin Turner (1919-1995) on October 26, 1945. The couple resided in Austin, Texas while John obtained his degree in geology. They moved to Midland, Texas in February 1950, and resided in Midland from 1950 to Johns death. John was a consulting geologist in Midland for many years with the firm of Penn Hills & Turner. Geneva worked at Sinclair Oil Company (later Atlantic Richfield) for over 30 years and retired in 1984. Her beloved companion and husband John predeceased her in 1995. She temporarily resided in Duncan, Oklahoma at the Chisholm Trail Retirement Center from 2002 to 2007 and then returned to Midland permanently.Geneva is survived by her sister, Lucille Bohner of Burkburnett, Texas; sister-in-law, Dorothy Campbell of Duncan, Oklahoma; eight nieces and nephews, Lisa Kuntz of Austin, Sylvia Sparks, Carole Buckholts and Robin Emerson, all of Duncan, Rhett Campbell of Houston, Karl Kuntz of Bellingham, Washington, Eric Kuntz of Fairbanks, Alaska, and Renae Campbell of McKinney, Texas; and numerous great- and great-great nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by her brother Carl T. Campbell (1916-1999) of Duncan, Oklahoma; sister Nedra Kuntz (1918-2004) of San Antonio, Texas; brother Robert L. Campbell (1924-2008) of Duncan, Oklahoma; and niece, Ronda Campbell (1952-2004) of Burkburnett, Texas.Geneva was a very special person, full of life and energy, always smiling, and continually brightening the lives of all who knew and loved her. She knew and loved the word of God and will be deeply missed by her many loving friends and relations. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, January 29, 2013 from 6:00-8:00PM. A service will be held Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at 1:00PM at the Funeral Home. Interment will be at the Resthaven Memorial Park in Midland.
