Gene Merrick Dyer, 85, of The Woodlands, formerley of Montgomery, passed away peacefully, after a wonderful start to the day, midmorning on Friday, February 28, 2003, in The Woodlands. Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM Tuesday, March 4, 2003, at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with Royce Clay, retired Church of Christ minister, officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park. She was born on March 20, 1917 in Nolan County, Texas. She married Elmer C. Dyer on January 29, 1943 in Houston, Texas and enjoyed a devoted and fulfilling marriage until his death in 1993. Gene and Elmer lived for many years in Big Spring, while farming in Martin County. After retiring, they lived in Lubbock. Survivors include one son, Joe Liberty of Midland and one daughter, Linda Kay Dyer of The Woodlands; three grandchildren, Carey Kint of Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, Todd Liberty of Dallas and Blake Liberty of Littleton, Colorado. Her pride and joy were her seven great grandchildren, Beth, Rachel and Kristen Liberty of Dallas, Matthew and David Kint of Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania and Jayden and Joseph Liberty of Littleton, Colorado.
