Gary was born on August 26, 1961 in Dallas, Texas to Howard and Charlene Shanks.
Gary is survived by his mother, Charlene Shanks; sister Janet Burks; brother David Shanks; nephew Haven Carr; and numerous cousins.
Gary was preceded in death by his father Howard Shanks.
