Gary Neil Jackson, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, friend to all and all the roles this man held went to his home in heaven on December 15, 2016. Gary was born October 11, 1956 to Francis Carneil and Lillian Marie Jackson in Waco Texas. Gary married the love of his life, Ladena Day on October 19, 1979 in Anacocco Louisiana. They just recently celebrated 37 years of marriage and in love more every year. Gary had a contagious smile and laugh that changed the atmosphere of any room. He loved his family. He is preceded in death by his parents, Carneil and Marie Jackson. He is survived by his wife, Ladena Jackson; daughter, Tanisha Jackson; sons, Shai Neil Jackson and Taye Britt; granddaughters, Alyssa Sokolowski, Serenity Jackson, Alexis Sokolowski; grandsons, Isaiah Sokolowski, Peyton Jackson and a grandson, Paxton Jackson who is due in February 2017; brother, Greg and his wife Brenda Jackson and sister, Kay and her husband, Booker Mackey. Gary served as staff sergeant in the army for 19 years from 1976-1992 on various bases including Germany, Ft. Sill Oklahoma, and Ft. Hood in Killeen Texas. Among his most prized and honored achievements he walked the 100 mile Nijmegen in 1988 in Hemau Germany. Gary was an avid athlete playing on a traveling softball team, basketball and football. He bowled for 20 years scoring a perfect score five times. Services for Gary will be held Sunday, December 18, 2016 at 3:00 pm at Second Baptist Church with Rev. Floyd Osborne officiating. The family would like to express their gratitudes to EMS of Midland, the staff at Midland Memorial Hospital and emergency department. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the charity of your choice. ,

Sarge you where something special to me an my husband. The way you could light up a room was amazing. I bowled with you fir the last 8 or 9 years an i loved it very much. You will always be one of my brothers. I love ya an you will be missed each an every day. My prayers go out to your family may God bless them in this time of need.

I was stationed with SSG Jackson and Ms Ladena and their children in Hemau Germany. SSG Jackson was a good NCO, he cared about the health and well being of his troops. As good of an NCO as he was, he was a better husband and father. Ms Ladena, you have the love of those from Hemau.

RIP GARY, I worked with Gary back in the day and again in 2014. You could come to work in a bad mood and Gary would definitely change your mood to a better one. He would make me laugh and he was hard to prank! One day we were driving in midland and I ran to the driver side and hit his window and finally made him jump! I felt victory lol.. but it didn't end there because he got me back!! After that I did t mess with him to much after that! It was never a Dull moment being around Gary! I have a video of my pranking another co worker and Gary was in it. If you wanna see it contact me. I'll be more then happy to share it... you may be gone my friend but you'll never be forgotten..

My thoughts and prayers goes out to Gary's family. Gary was such a awesome man. He was so full of life and such a joy to be around. It was a joy to work with him, it was never a dull moment. RIP My friend

Gary truly was a kind and caring man. A man with an infectious laugh and sense of humor but what I admire most about him was his service as a veteran in the army. Serving 19 years as a staff sergeant. I can only imagine what that task demanded of him both physically and mentally. I salute you, Gary Jackson. You will be missed in our family! We already had plans for you to teach us the slide at our next family gathering. I hurt for my sister, for her children and grandchildren. I ask God to care for them tenderly and to meet every need. To pull them up close and just hold them. Comfort them in this huge loss. Help them to grieve well, reflect well and to draw strength from You, God.

I agree with every post that Gary had an infectious smile, laugh and humor to the core of his being! I deeply respect the 19 years he served as a staff sergeant in the army and all that serving at this level involved both physical and mental. He would have continued to serve in that way. The government was making changes and no longer needed him in that capacity. Gary cared deeply for people. He was a people person. He will be missed in our family. My heart grieves for my sister and for her children and grandchildren. God, I ask Your care of them, Your comfort, the peace that surpasses all understanding to be theirs in abundance. Supply their every need. Walk them through this huge loss and help them to grieve well. Help them to reflect well. May the service tomorrow be led of You.

My heart goes out to Gary's family, he always talked about his family. Gary will be missed by many, he was fun to be around. May GOD bless his family & friends who will miss him the most.

My Condolences to His Family and Loved Ones. Worked with Gary, briefly, at the old ezrider location. He always was a very personable supervisor. Always willing to listen and assist where needed. Even though busy quite often He ALWAYS managed to have a smile or joke available to lighten the day. He will be greatly missed by all. He was such a Welcome addition to that Compay. Saw him a few years later and his demeanor and ready smile were still there along with His Zest for Life. I Pray for the Family that God will hold them up through this tough time in their lives. I will be Praying that God give you the strength to make it through this.

I will always remember how you made me laugh an how you loved me an mike like we where your blood sister an bother. If i came into the bowling alley feeling down you would always make sure that I would have a smile on my face before I even sat down to put on my bowling shoes. I could talk to you about anything that was on my heart or my mind an you would always have somthing wise to say or even funny to make me laugh. Gary was a God fearing man that loved the Lord very much. Gary would give you the shirt off of his back and ask for nothing in return. I am going to miss that big contagiousness. Smile and laugh. Gary was always one of the first ones to arrive at EZ-Rider and one of the last ones to leave. I can not count the many evenings with us both working late, when we would catch up with one another. I enjoyed the time we would take to visit and unwind a little from the stress of the day in the evenings before we would go home for the day. Gary always was willing to lend a hand and jump in to help where it was needed. I loved his humor and he could always lighten my mood. My heart goes out to all of his family. I know how much he loved them each and every one, He told me often times on those evenings up at work. He will be sorely missed by me and all of those whose lives he touched. Until we meet again my friend.

Its easy to say Gary was my friend and co-worker. he use to call me dad and it was a soothing thought to hear him say it. He will be missed and he will always be remembered as a driver who could drive a route like no other. I remember when we fist got the big buses and changed from the little ones. He was behind me one day in a big bus and I was in a little bus. I was going to show him he could not keep up with me... I have known Sarge now for 5yrs. This year I had the honor of Bowling with him on his team, he was family and he always had your bank no matter what. We are sorely going to miss his laughter and smile. He truly made Bowling on Tuesday nights fun again. My prayers go out to his family. You may have left us for now but you will never be forgotten. I had the pleasure of meeting Serge in Dec of 2015. He always had a laugh and a smile no matter what, my boyfriend and him are really good friends for years. He actually bowled with Steven the night before and was so excited because after the game that night , they would be in first place.. He was right!!! as of this point he's Tuesday team is in first place.. My daughter sends her prayers, She is 11 years old,, Serge would always give her free pickles. He had a heart of Gold. I know he is with our Lord and smiling away... SGT get you some 300 's in heaven love and blessings to you and your family... You will always be remembered!

I didn't get to know Gary for very long, but for the 4 years I worked with him, he was always a bright presence and he never failed to lift the spirits of anyone that he was in the room with. Gary will be sorely missed, and his family and loved ones have my deepest condolences.

I worked with Gary at EZ Rider during one of the toughest times of my life. He held everyone up, made us laugh and made the world much brighter with his presence. My condolences to his family and friends as he will be greatly missed. He made my world, as well as several other's place in it, a brighter place.

My heart and prayers for the family, sarge was a funny man always enjoyed being around him and having conversions with him, he will be surely missed and missed at the bowling center.

Gary will always be remembered he was like a brother to me. I worked with Gary for 13 years and enjoyed it very much.My condolences to his family and may God bless you all always.
