Gary Lynn Goodman, 62, passed away on January 31, 2015. The family will be accepting guests on Friday, February 6, 2015, at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home from 6:00pm-8:00pm. Funeral services will be at Bellview Baptist Church on Saturday, February 7, 2015, at 11:00am with Pastor Rick Holeman officiating. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.Gary was born on March 4, 1952 in Houston, Texas to Marlon Albert Goodman and Juanita Ruth Kinnison Reed. He graduated from Hayes High School outside of Wimberley Texas in 1971. After attending tech school in Austin, he began teaching Industrial Art at Dripping Springs High School. He moved to Midland in 1979 and met the love of his life, Cindi Vines. On February 10, 1984, Cindi and Gary were joined as one. Together the couple raised two children, Garrett and Monty. Gary worked various jobs until 1998 when he began his career with Verizon Wireless. He was a hardworking man with a great work ethic. Many of his days were spent on a tractor and spending time at their \Hoot & Nanny\ ranch in Blackwell, Texas. He enjoyed hunting, fishing the Rio Grande, and spending time outdoors. Gary also perfected the art of smoking a brisket to perfection. He made the best brisket in Texas and anyone who tried it always agreed. He was “Hoot” to his three grandchildren, Emmitt Seabaugh, Gage Lynn Goodman, and Kasen Walker Goodman. Gary was a true philanthropist and was passionate about being able to do things for others. Gary was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend. He will be greatly missed.Gary is survived by his wife of 31 years, Cindi Goodman; son, Garrett Lynn Goodman (Halston); son, Monty James Goodman(Kati); three grandsons, Emmitt Seabaugh, Gage Lynn Goodman, and Kasen Walker Goodman of Midland, Texas; his mom, Juanita Ruth Reed (Harvey); sister, Connie Diane Maness (Micky); brother, Allen Donavon (Bo) Goodman of Wimberley, Texas mother-in-law, Imogene Vines of Midland, Texas and numerous brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, nieces and nephews and friends.He is preceded in death by his dad, Marlon Albert Goodman.Pallbearers will be Mike Kinnison, Jody Vines, Mark Vines, Micky Maness, Jamie Ragland, Dave Cane, and Roy Ragland.
