Gary Duncan, 66 of Midland, passed away on Monday, December 4, 2017. The family will be accepting guests at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home of Midland on Friday, December 8, 2017, from 6:00pm-8:00pm. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, December 9, 2017, at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church at 11:00am.Gary was born on September 17, 1951 in Kermit Texas to Charles and Evelyn Duncan. Gary grew up in Kermit, Texas and graduated from Kermit High School in 1970. He later received his a Bachelor of Science in Business Management and a Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering. For the last eleven years Gary resided in Midland. He loved to fish, hunt, and was a great outdoorsman. He always loved a good adventure and loved to visit new places. He loved his wife and children, his grandchildren and his dogs. Gary was a master electrician and retired from Chevron after 28 years of dedicated employment. After retiring he started and managed several business, including Duncan Operating Electric. He could fix or build anythinig. Gary was a hard worker and a lover of life. He worked until the job was done and was a giving and honorable man. He was a man of standards and accountability. He spent his life working hard to do for his family. Gary also knew how to have a great time whether it was a family vacation or a party at the house. He loved people and loved life. Gary was diagnosed with ALS a year and a half ago. He accepted and handled the hand he was delt with honor and dignity.He is proceeded in death by his father, Charles Duncan, and his sister Priscilla Duncan Gilbert.Gary is survived by his wife, Donna Pearcy Duncan; mother, Evelyn Duncan; twin brother, Kary Duncan; sister, Pam Flesher; and children, Chris Duncan, Matt and Laura Duncan, Elyse and Chris Stricklen, Elayne and Brenton Dunn, Bryan and Misty Duncan, and Brandon and Kartina Duncan. Gary is survived by 12 grandchildren, Charlize, Karley & Abigail Dunn of Fort Worth, Kimberly Duncan of Indiana, Alyssa Duncan of Midland, Haley & Brody Duncan of Kermit, Emmarie & Ian Duncan of Seabrook and Logan and Shaylee Stricklen of Midland and Justin Langston of Austin.The family would like to express their gratitude towards all of the friends and family who so greatly helped and encouraged during this time. They would also like to thank the nurses in the Intensive Care Unit at Midland Memorial, the doctors and other professional at Texas Neuropahy and the ALS clinic, and the PT ladies at West Texas Therpy. Words could never express how thankful they are for their church family at St. Lukes Methodist Church and all the support and love they have shown.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to ALS Association Texas Charter.,
