Gary Doyle Campbell of Midland, Texas entered Heaven on Thursday, December 30, 2021 at the age of 75 at his home following a long lengthy illness.
Gary Doyle was born on August 8, 1946 in Ballinger Texas to Marshall and Erma Campbell. He grew up in his early childhood in Ballinger and later his Dad & Mom moved the family to Midland, Texas.
He attended Midland schools until enlisting in the National Guards and later enlisted in the United States Army on March 16, 1963. He proudly served 2 tours of duty for his Country in Vietnam. He was discharged on February 27, 1965 with an honorable discharge. He married his first wife in August of 1962 Linda Harmon and they had 3 sons, Terry Don, Bobby Wayne and Shannon Doyle. He later married Linda Wise and raised her son as his own Gordon Yarbrough. Gary and Linda had a daughter, Shyla Gail that completed their family.
He is proceeded in death by his parents, Marshall and Erma, 2 brothers Bob Cude and David Campbell, sister Betty Gardner and son Terry Don, nephews, Glen Warren, Jason Plunk, nieces Karen Kay, Sharon Gail and Pam Kologenczak. great nephew Randy Struck.
He is survived by his loving wife Linda, his children Bobby and Shannon of Ballinger, Gordon and wife Katrina of Tomball, TX and his daughter Shyla of Midland, TX. His grandsons Terry Don, Jr, Justin and Garrison. His granddaughters Abby, Daniell, Kayla, Karissa, Ariel and Arianna. His great grandchildren, Zayden, Jonathan and Layla. Numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews. His sisters Gail Warren (Mike) of Ballinger, TX, Nancy Plunk (Gene) of Midland, TX and Marsha Cook (Joe) of Odessa, TX.
Gary Doyle was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 4149. He enjoyed catfishing, bar-b-queuing and gardening. He loved all of his family and friends. If you ever meet him you would always remember him as he would always cut up with everyone and make them laugh. He loved to listen to Merle Haggard and Johnny Cash music.
There will be a visitation for family and friends from 6pm to 8pm on Wednesday, January 5 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home in Midland, TX. A Military graveside service will be held on Thursday, January 6 at 3pm at Resthaven Memorial Park in Midland, TX.
Pallbearers will be David Cude, Glen Richardson, Chase Hurt, Trey Hurt, Rance Struck and Todd Cook.
In lieu of flowers the family request contributions can be made to American Cancer Society and Hospice of Midland.
