Garland Lee Frasier, age 74 years and 11 months, of Midland, passed away April 6, 2016. Funeral services will be held on April 11, 2016 at 3:00 pm at Wilshire Park Baptist Church. Pastors Glenn Pipes and Russ Frasier will be officiating.Garland was born on April 11, 1941 in Gorman, Texas to Rev. F.P. Frasier and Elsie Pearce Frasier. After graduating from Buena Vista High School in Imperial, TX in 1960, he attended Midland Commercial College and received his Engineering and Structural Drawing certificate. For several years, he was the instructor for these courses. He worked for Superior, Skelly and TP oil companies. In 1967, he began working for ARCO Oil & Gas in Midland as an Engineering Draftsman. After 25 years of service and being promoted through the ranks to Drafting Manager, he retired.On October 19, 1963, after 4 months of dating, he married the love of his life, Charlotte Diane Sumruld. They had two children: son, Eric and daughter, Dana. Garland enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, cooking and baking, genealogy research, serving as deacon, telling funny and wild stories of his past, his family, friends, and his four-legged children.Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Charlotte ; son, Eric Frasier and wife, Lori; daughter, Dana and husband, Steve Mizzles; grandchildren, Kallie Frasier Graham and husband, Landon, Cole Frasier and fiancé, Becca Brown, Sara Mizzles Nyugen and husband, Brandon, Cord Mizzles, Dakota Frasier and Mark Mizzles; great-grandchildren, Kyler Graham, Jonas Frasier, Lexi Graham and Grey Frasier, all of Midland. He is also survived by sister, Annette Giese and husband, David.He was predeceased by his father, Rev. F.P. Frasier; mother, Elsie Pearce Frasier; brother, Eugene Frasier; in-laws, Elmer and Mildred Sumruld; and great grandsons, Liam and Blake Frasier.Pallbearers will be Steve Mizzles, Cole Frasier, Cord Mizzles, Mark Mizzles, Landon Graham, Brandon Nyugen, Andrew Corman, and Bryan Nyugen. Honorary pallbearers will be Jonas Frasier and the Wilshire Park Baptist Church family.The family would like to express their gratitude towards Dr. Watkins, Dr. P.K. Patel, Dr. Brown, Dr. Rosetta Catalasan, Dr. Matthews and Dr. Vogel; the nursing staff of Midland Memorial Hospital ICU and Emergency Room as well as the Respiratory team of the ICU.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Wilshire Park Baptist Church; Wounded Warrior Project; or Allison Cancer Center.
