Gail Berringer, 75, of Big Spring, passed away Saturday, November 27, 2021. Funeral services will be 4:00 PM Wednesday, December 1, 2021, at the First Baptist Church with Rev. Brad Borggren, pastor of Salem Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Tuesday at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home.
She was born October 21, 1946 in Cairo, Illinois. She met George “Jim” Berringer, who was serving in the Army and married August 6, 1966. After marrying, they moved from Fort Bragg, North Carolina to Texas.
Gail achieved a teaching degree from San Angelo State University and taught for Big Spring ISD for 25 years. She enjoyed traveling to watch her grandkids and great-grandkids play sports and traveled to Kentucky every year to spend time with her siblings and family.
Gail was a member of Salem Baptist Church and loved going to church and spending time with her church family. She spent lots of time volunteering in her community and helping those in need.
Survivors include her husband, George “Jim” Berringer; one son, Paul Berringer; four siblings, Randy, Lori, Terre and Deena; one son-in-law, Andy Lopez; five grandchildren, Kolby, Tailor, Courtney, Brett and Adilyn; four great-grandchildren, which she referred to as her “greats”, Kamreigh, Samuel, Carter and Laryn; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Laura Jean Hite; and her daughter, Amy Lopez.
