In Loving Memory of Our Beloved SonGage Marvin Powell, 14, of Midland, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 13, 2012. He died in a Lubbock hospital. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, October 18, 2012, at the Alamo Heights Baptist Church with Pastor Jim Auld officiating. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 17, 2012, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home in Midland.He was born on April 30, 1998, in Odessa and enjoyed playing football and video games, and shooting BB guns. Gage loved the Air Force, and he and his brother Evan dreamed of joining the service together. He was a member of the Junior ROTC at Lee Freshman. He was an active member of Alamo Heights Baptist Church. He was very giving and was a hard worker who had a servants heart. Gage will be remembered for being loving and outgoing yet shy.It broke our hearts to lose you, but you did not go alone. For part of us went with you the day God called you home. Survivors include his parents, Jimmy and Becky Powell; two brothers, Aspen Powell and Evan Powell; his grandparents, Marty & Benita Hammond, and Ginger and Charlie Spriggs; two uncles Clinton Lambert and wife Stacey and Matt Hammond and wife Amy; and two aunts, Mindy Garcia and husband Mario, and Randi Hammond.He was welcomed into Heaven by his great-grandfather Harold South; great-aunt Darlene Price, great-aunt Sue Freeman, great-grandfather W.A. Simmons, great-grandmother Edyth Simmons, great-aunts Kay Simmons and Bonnie Simmons; and great-uncle Joe Simmons.In lieu of flowers, donations to help offset the cost of funeral expenses are appreciated and may be made at any Wells Fargo location under the name of Gage Powell.
