Gabriel Chavarria was born August 9th, 1964 in Ft. Stockton, Texas to Hortencia Chavarria and the late Frank Chavarria, Sr. He moved to Midland in 1994 where he began his career as a roughneck. He worked all positions for different companies throughout the years and took pride being in the oil industry. He then married Gracie Urquidez of Alpine, Texas on September 24, 1997.He enjoyed spending his free time with family and friends in his "shop". He also kept himself busy barbequing, listening to music while rooting for the Dallas Cowboys. Like his father, he also took interest under the hood of a car.Gabriel passed away on Friday, July 20, 2007 in Martin County at the age of 42.He was preceded in death by his father, Frank Chavarria, Sr., paternal grandparents, Pablo and Maria Chavarria, maternal grandparents, Edwardo and Margarita Salas, aunt Oralia S. Ramirez, aunt Eva Conde and uncle Edwardo Salas. He is survived by his wife, Gracie Chavarria of Midland; mother, Hortencia Chavarria of Ft. Stockton; daughters, Amanda Chavarria of Seguin and Dioni Urquidez of Midland; granddaughter, Zayles Brial Whitehurst of Midland; brother, Frank Chavarria, Jr. and wife, Cindy of Midland; brother, Larry Chavarria and wife, Becky of Imperial; twin sister, Gracie Terrazas and husband, Eddie of Midland; sister, Marisa Singh and husband, Gilbert of Ft. Stockton; sister, Teresa Amaro and husband, Cipriano of Marfa; brother, Danny Chavarria and wife, Tessie of Alpine; mother-in-law, Teresa Urquidez of Alpine; numerous aunts, nephews and nieces.Funeral services have been scheduled for Thursday, July 26, 2007 at 11:00 am at St. Stephen's Catholic Church in Midland, Texas. A rosary will be at 7:00 pm, Wednesday, July 25, 2007 at St. Stephen's Catholic Church. Pallbearers are Edwardo Salas, Jr., Ralph Lovington, Shawn Wishert "Cowboy", Jimmy Munoz, Mario Jimenez, Raul Pina, Tony Alvarado, Jr. and Adam Llanez.
