G. Wayne Westerman passed away on July 24, 2018 at his home. He was 81. Wayne was born in Rising Star, TX, to Carroll Westerman and his wife Lucile on November 6, 1936. He was raised in Artesia, NM. He attended Artesia, High School, participating in all sports. From 1955 to 1959 he attended Texas Tech majoring in civil engineering.Wayne married Ann Graves of Fort Worth, TX during their junior year of college. Soon the family grew to five with the births of K.C., Kelly, and Kurt.The family moved to Midland in 1966 and in 1970, Wayne along with his business partner, Barry Welton, established a small oil field automation company, End Devices, Inc. In 1974, Wayne and three partners established ESI Supply, an electronics supply company.Wayne’s hobbies were numerous. They included aviation, vintage cars, metal works and jewelry making. Volunteering with Meals on Wheels was a highlight of his week.Wayne is survived by his wife of sixty years, Ann, oldest son, K. C., both of Midland and daughter, Kelly, of Seattle, WA. He is preceded in death by his parents and youngest son, Kurt, in 2013.A memorial service honoring Wayne’s life will be held at 10:30 a.m. at Grace Presbyterian Church, 2801 Garfield on Friday, July 27, 2018.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Meals on Wheels or a charity of your choice.Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Midland.
