G. E. "Jerry" Cole, 86, of Midland passed away on Sunday, April 29, 2007 in Midland. Private graveside services were held on Tuesday, May 1, 2007 at Resthaven Memorial Park with Pastor Gary Redwine of Alamo Heights Baptist Church in Midland, officiating.Jerry was born on April 18, 1921 to Clarence L. and Alma S. Nunn Cole in Stigler, Oklahoma. He married Joyce Hope Tettleton on April 5, 1952 in Las Cruces, New Mexico. Jerry served in the U.S. Army in WWII as a Sergeant in the 93rd Signal Battalion #AP0312, New York, New York. He served 18 months overseas in Germany, France, and Luxemburg, serving under General Patton and received the Bronze Star.Jerry has lived in Midland since 1960. He was an executive for Dunlap's Department Store in Midland. He had a life-long career in the retail business. Jerry managed and owned Kohl's Men's Clothing and Miss Coed. After retirement, Jerry and Joyce worked in real estate, buying and selling homes. He also owned and operated Kohls Real Estate in Carlsbad, New Mexico. He belonged to the Lion's International and Rotary International. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce; and two sisters, Ruby Grambell and Elizabeth Baker.He is survived by one daughter, Stacye Cole; four grandchildren, Donald Lynn Bell and Martha Joyce Cole of Midland; L.C.P.L. Spurgeon V. Stepp in the Marine Corp. and Elisha Cole Stepp of Hendersonville, North Carolina; a brother and sister-in-law, Junior and Gloria Cole of Napa, California; three sisters, Nadine White of Napa, California, Maxine Woolard and her husband, Bill of Alvarado and Pricilla Sturdevant and her husband, Allen of Las Vegas, Nevada; niece, Shirley Murphy of Artesia, New Mexico; and two nephews, James C.
