Rev. G.A. Magee, 86, of Midland passed away on November 9, 2015 when the Lord called home one of His most faithful servants. The family will be accepting friends and family at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 11, 2015 from 6:00 PM- 8:00 PM. Graveside services will be held at Resthaven Memorial Park on Thursday, November 12th, 2015 at 3:00 PM with the memorial service following at 4:00 PM at the First Baptist Church Worship Center with Pastor David Johnson officiating.G.A. was born on October 9, 1929 in Mendoza, Texas to Rev. Hugh and Lena Magee. He graduated from Buda High School in 1947 and on September 30, 1949, G.A. married his high school sweetheart and love of his life, June Keesee. June worked and made it possible for G.A. to complete his Bachelor’s degree from Hardin-Simmons University in 2 1/2 years. He then went on to do graduate studies at Hardin-Simmons and Southwestern Theological Seminary. G.A. had two student pastorates (Buffalo Gap and Loraine) and pastored for 43 years in Happy Union, San Angelo, Eunice, NM, Odessa and Midland. He retired in 1993 from Bellview Baptist Church in Midland and continued to serve as interim pastor around West Texas and New Mexico. He served in the following capacities for the New Mexico Baptist Convention: Chairman of State Executive Board, Chairman of Finance Committee, Associational Sunday School Director, Secretary of State Executive Board and Vice-President of Convention. For the Texas Baptist Convention, he served as member of the Texas Baptist Administrative Committee, member of the Texas Baptist Executive Board, member of the Texas Baptist Christian Life Convention and Chairman of the Midland Baptist Associational Finance Committee. He also served on the Baptist Sunday School Board and as a deacon at First Baptist Church in Midland. He had several recognitions: listed in the 12th Edition of Who's Who in the West, New Mexico State President of the Southwestern Baptist Seminary Alumni Association and President of Hardin-Simmons University Alumni in New Mexico. He was very active in mission work including Indian reservations in New Mexico and the River Ministry in Presidio, TX.G.A.'s enjoyable past times were riding his horses, attending all events for his kids and grandkids and anything sports related as he was an avid Texas Longhorns fan (although he would do an occasional guns up for his Red Raider grandkids). He planted the Christian seed in all of his children and grandchildren by teaching scripture and baptizing each of them.G.A. is survived by his daughter, Charlotte Webb and husband Mike; grandchildren, Wesley, Allison and Derek; son Rodney Magee and wife Lee Ann; grandchildren, Keith and wife Alyson (great-grandchild, Adelynn); Natalie (great-grandchildren, Devin and Aubrey); Monica and husband Jake (great-grandchildren, Dillon, Scarlett and Sterling); Lindsay and husband Jonathan (great-grandchild, Reese); Chelsea and husband Eric (great-grandchild, Cooper and Ellie); and Brooke and husband Derek; son Gaines Magee and wife Gigi; grandchildren Patrick and Blair; brother-in-law Everett Keesee; numerous cousins.He is preceded in death by his wife, June Magee and parents, Rev.
