Furd H. Love, 81, of Midland, died on Tuesday, November 6, 2007, in Midland. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, November 12, 2007 at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Midland with the Rev. Ariel Lagunilla, officiating.He was born on August 6, 1926, in Clarkesville, Texas.Furd served in the United States Army in World War II in France and Germany. Upon an Honorable Discharge, he worked for the Red Andrews Geophysical Company as a seismographer and had ran a magnotometer for 6 years. He then married Charline McMillin on February 6, 1953 in Varsity, Arkansas and worked for the Greensville Times Newspaper in Greensville, Mississippi. Furd and Charline then moved to Pecos and he worked for the Pecos Enterprise before moving to Midland in 1971 to work for the Midland Reporter Telegram, retiring after 24 years. Furd loved collecting rocks and arrowheads and listening to classical music. He enjoyed reading the dictionary and encyclopedia and was a student of words.He was a Catholic.Survivors include his wife Charline Love; two sons, Joe and Hinton Love; and one sister, Linda Love Burth.He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, John Love; and one brother, T. Alan Love.The family suggests memorials be made to Home Hospice, 901 W.
