Freddy Roberson

Freddy Roberson, 77 of Odessa, passed away on Friday, March 1, 2024. The visitation will be from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 7, 2024 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home. Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 8, 2024 at Grace Christian.

Freddy was born on January 19, 1947 in Gorman, Texas to Frederick and Edna Roberson. He grew up in Odessa, TX graduating from Ector High School in 1965. He enrolled in the U.S. Naval Marines in 1966, serving on the USS Ethan Allen Naval Submarine for four years as a Sonar Technician. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal. After serving in the Navy, Freddy returned to Odessa where he earned an associate’s degree in Applied Science. He also worked for the Odessa Police Department as a Police Officer. On January 24, 1975, Freddy married June Gilliam. He spent the remainder of his career at Curley’s Machine Shop and eventually retired from TMK IPSCO.

Freddy was a loving devoted father to three children. He continued caring for his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren until his final days.

Freddy is preceded in death by his wife, June Gilliam Roberson, parents Frederick and Edna Roberson and brother-in-law, Frank Valdez.

He is survived by his children, Cory and Stephanie Roberson of Odessa, TX, Amanda and Danny delMas, Roxann and Josh Lujan of Midland, TX; his grandchildren, Katelyn Grant, Bailey Roberson, Kylee Roberson, Gaven delMas, Barrick “Bear” delMas, Zayne Lujan and Zoey Lujan; great grandchildren, Ryleigh Grant; sister Mary Ella Valdez and family, as well as his brother Charles and Susan Roberson and Family.

In lieu of flowers donations can be sent to Wounded Warriors; Hospice of Midland.
