Fred D. Ray (Fred R. Procter), 78, of Abilene, died on Monday, April 5, 2004, in a Big Spring hospital. Graveside funeral services will be Saturday, April 10, 2004, at 3:00 PM, at the Abilene City Cemetery, 1133 Cottonwood, Abilene, Texas.He was born on December 27, 1925, in Abilene.Fred was a lifetime resident of Abilene. He had served his country in the United States Navy during World War II. He was a prominent business man in the oilfield industry in Abilene for many years.Fred was a family oriented man who gave of his life, love, home and heart for his sons. Later in life, God blessed him with a daughter and granddaughter. He was a devoted man of God.Survivors include two sons, Mark Procter of Yantis and Brooks Procter of Dallas; one daughter, Teresa Wells Leonard of Winnsboro; one granddaughter, Brandie Swann of Winnsboro and numerous nieces & nephews.
