Fred C. Sides, 79, of Midland passed in to the lord's hands on Wednesday, February 14, 2007 in Midland. Memorial services will be 12:00 PM Saturday, February 17, 2007 at the First Baptist Chapel in Midland. Interment will be at 11:00 AM Saturday at Resthaven Memorial Park in Midland. He was born June 13, 1927 in Rowena, Texas to Fred Austin Sides and Azalea Dillard Sides. He moved to Lueders, Texas and graduated high school in 1945. He served in the US Army during WWII in Japan. He graduated from Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene in 1950. Fred married the love of his life, Betty Jo Bonner, on June 3, 1951 in Abilene. He worked as a structural engineer in the oil and gas industry, traveling the four corners of the world. He was a member of the First Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; Fred Austin and Azalea Dillard Sides.He is survived by his wife: Betty of Midland; 1 son: Fred Sides and wife Patty of Cedar Park; 2 daughters: Debra Williams of Chandler, Arizona and Sharon Broyles and husband Robert of Fort Worth; 6 grandchildren: Cooper Sides, Katherine, Ben and Sarah Broyles, Vanessa Czerwonka and Andrew Williams; 1 great grandchild: Blaine Czerwonka; 1 brother: Robert R. Sides and wife Ray Nell of Ardmore, Oklahoma and 1 sister: Joyce Ball of Odessa.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund or the charity of your choice.Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory in Midland.
