Frankie Oneta Leonard was born in Lenorah, Texas on May 2, 1930, to Carl and Emma Lee Leonard. Frankie was one of 8 children born into a farming family. While Frankie played basketball in high school, she loved her home economic classes and thrived at cooking and baking. On November 7, 1947, she married Herbert Schuelke and together they lived, worked and raised their son, H., in Stanton, Texas.
Frankie was involved in the community, and her pecan pies won many blue ribbons at the local fairs. In 1955 at the age of 24 Frankie became a devoted member of The Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. After the passing of her husband, Herbert, in 1995 she relocated to Independence, Missouri for several years where she was able to be even more involved in the church. It was very important to Frankie to share the Gospel with everyone she met. In her later years she returned to Texas to reside in Sweetwater with her son H. She lived out her final years in Big Spring, Texas at Parkview Rehabilitation Center where she was the VIP! Everyone enjoyed her smiles and looked forward to seeing what she wore each day. (especially her hats) A big thank you to Debbie Brookins and her wonderful staff for taking such good care of our beloved Aunt Frankie.
