Frankie "Judy" Reed, 76, of Stanton, died on Saturday, May 8, 2004, at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, May 11, 2004 at the Downtown Church of Christ in Stanton with Van Pendergrass, minister, officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park in Big Spring. She was born on August 4, 1927, in Throckmorton, Texas and married W.F. "Bill" Reed on January 20, 1952 in Stanton, Texas. He preceded her in death on August 27, 1965.Judy had been a resident of this area for many years and had returned to Stanton in 1990. She enjoyed ironing for the community, making pecan and chess pies and playing the harmonica. She was a member of the Downtown Church of Christ. Survivors include her son, William Elton Reed of Deadwood, South Dakota; 2 grandchildren, Robert Allen Reed of Deadwood, South Dakota and Jerome William Reed of Norfolk, Virginia; 2 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters and three brothers. The family suggests memorials to: Downtown Church of Christ, P.O. Box 1067, Stanton, Texas 79782. The family will receive friends, Monday, May 10, 2004 from 7 P.M. to 8 P.M. at the funeral home. Arrangements under the direction of Gilbreath Funeral Home of Stanton.
