I have many happy memories of Frank, as I do of Roxie and the Edwards family. I often felt like family the way I was welcomed into their lives. Frank welded a pickup bed into a trailer so my husband and I could move to California although we never made it that far, I will never forget how thrilled he was to do this for us. He loved working with his hands, driving the cars, and traveling where he wanted to. I remember his smile. Frank loved his family. I know he wants you all to mend your differences, love each other and take care of each other, and mostly love your lives. I'm going to miss Frank but I will never forget him and I will always love him.

LUTHER VANDROSS LYRICS Dance With My Father Back when I was a child, before life removed all the innocence My father would lift me high and dance with my mother and me and then Spin me around 'til I fell asleep Then up the stairs he would carry me And I knew for sure I was loved If I could get another chance, another walk, another dance with him I'd play a song that would never, ever end How I'd love, love, love To dance with my father again When I and my mother would disagree To get my way, I would run from her to him He'd make me laugh just to comfort me Then finally make me do just what my mama said Later that night when I was asleep He left a dollar under my sheet Never dreamed that he would be gone from me If I could steal one final glance, one final step, one final dance with him I'd play a song that would never, ever end 'Cause I'd love, love, love To dance with my father again Sometimes I'd listen outside her door And I'd hear how my mother cried for him I pray for her even more than me I pray for her even more than me I know I'm praying for much too much But could you send back the only man she loved I know you don't do it usually But dear Lord she's dying To dance with my father again Every night I fall asleep and this is all I ever dream I will miss you Daddy!!! I will see you in my dreams. I love you!!! Neva

First off I'm sorry for the hurt that us the living have to deal with. But second when you read what the above have left you know that Uncle Frank left us all with many smiles and lots of love. And that he is happy in Heaven with the many cars he can rebuild and cherrish forever. You know someone that comes from a family of this size has to have a Heart of Gold.To be able to handle the trials of haveing that many siblings and still be able to love and care for many children and bring them up with values of love and respect and to know how to share it with others. If there is not one thing I have learned from being a part of this great Legacy that we in this family have it that we know how to Love Laugh to help others in need and to never judge.Even though one more person from this wonderful loveing family has left us.He left us knowing that we should all love one another and always stay in touch no matter what..I think the thing I remember most about Uncle Frank is his smile. And when I think of Grandma and Uncle Billy I also think of that somewhat curious smile..Just makes you wonder what they our really up to or thinking..Everyone reading this and that knows us wether you our family or not knows this smile....( Mammy you know that smile don't you) And I'm so happy to have it...God Bless you all..Remember hug eachother..Love each other.Services our for the living and to remember the ones who left us cause the ones who have left our already in the best caring hands they can be in..So you each hold each other til our day comes to be in them Hands also..God Bless you and Hugs and smiles to you all...Melody

I remember going over to Uncle Frank's and Aunt Roxie's house when I was little. I just remember being in awe of his collection. I think that's what started my love of working on cars. He was a very genuine guy. I was sad to hear he passed. I send my condolences to everyone back in West Texas.
Lynn, Tami and Nathan Benton left a message on April 10, 2009:
We are so sorry to hear of Uncle Franks passing. From all the stories I always felt the Edwards Kids were so lucky to have such a wonderful father and from the first time I met him I knew where they all got there loving personalities and sense of humor.. Everytime you walk into their homes you know you are welcome and part of the family.. May god wrap his loving arms around all of you and help you during this hard time.. Lynn will be at the services, you all will be in Nathans and my heart. Lynn has shared so many wonderful stories of Uncle Frank that we felt like we knew him so well, instead of just meeting him a few times.. But his love of working on cars is still being passed down as Nathan and his dad spend many hours piddling on cars and listening to the funny stories that the Benton and Edwards kids had growing up... Our love to all and Thank you God that Uncle Frank is with you smiling and feeling no pain.

I am sorry to hear of his death, but we all know he is in a better place than we can ever be as of now. It is time for all harsh, hard, ill, feeling be placed aside and share his memories together and not against each other. Pat is highly thought of in our church, First Baptist and Sunday School Class. Uncle Frank will surely be missed. He loved and accepted people for who they were and didn't judge anyone. His walk in life was an example to all of us. I believe he went home with the Lord and is now healthy and whole and smiling down on us all. My prayers will be with the family and I hope everyone pulls together as Uncle Frank would want them to so they can help each other through this time of loss. Our love to you all today and everyday.
