Frank Edward Suttles, 64, passed away on Sunday, January 4, 2015. He was a Christian, a member of the Midland community since 1976 and a proprietor since 1983. Frank was born on March 10, 1950 in Uvalde, Texas, to Irvin and Vernell (Cox) Suttles. His childhood was spent in Camp Wood, Texas. He attended Sul Ross University in Alpine, Texas and graduated with a Geology degree in 1974. Frank moved to Midland in 1976 and started his business in 1983. He formed Suttles Logging, Inc. with two units and four mud loggers. A little over 30 years later, Suttles Logging has developed into a small corporation with large corporate features, with over 90 employees and 45 on site geological units.Frank was a loving and devoted father, grandfather and friend. Frank had a great sense of humor and always had a positive attitude. He belonged to several organizations, including the Corvette Club of West Texas, the Good Guys Car Club, and the West Texas Geological Society. Frank enjoyed many hobbies; he collected arrowheads, rocks and minerals throughout his life. He participated in the Big Bend Open Road Race, attended the Tucson Gem and Mineral Show annually, and was a big supporter of the Wounded Warrior Project. He loved travel and photography. Most of all, Frank enjoyed spending time with family and friends.Frank is survived by his daughter, Jennifer McCoullough and husband, Scott of Midland; his daughter, Lindsey Jackson and husband, William of Conroe; his daughter, Kelly Moody and her husband, Ryan of San Antonio; his grandchildren, Rylan Motley; Elle Jackson; Julius Suttles Jackson; Camille Moody and Quinn Moody; his sister, Betty Butler of Boerne, Texas; his brother, Bobby Suttles and his wife, Brenda of Highlandville, Missouri; his brother, David Suttles of Camp Wood, Texas; nieces and nephew Brooke Butler, Brittni Fisher and husband, Matthew, and Austin Suttles; and numerous friends all of whom loved him and will miss him dearly.Frank was preceded by his parents, Irvin and Vernell Suttles.Visitation will be on Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at the Nalley-Pickle and Welch Funeral Home from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 8, 2015 at 2:00 PM at the Nalley-Pickle and Welch Chapel with Pastor Bill Welsh as the celebrant. Interment will be on Friday, January 9, 2015 at 2:00 PM at the Camp Wood Cemetery in Camp Wood, Texas with Pastor J.R. Rollinson as the celebrant.Honorary pallbearers are Jerry Cox, Malcolm Davis, David Godsey, Rick Heckler, Harlan Martin, Donny McClure, Lee Morgan, Kenneth Putnam, Paul Reed, Curtis Roys, Sam Samford, and Tom Smith.Funeral arrangements are under the care of Nalley-Pickle and Welch Funeral Home and Crematory of Midland.
