Francis Willis LeVier, 82, of Big Spring, died on Monday, June 24, 2002, in a local nursing home. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Thursday, June 27, 2002, at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with Dr. Jimmy Watson, pastor of First Christian Church, officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park. He was born on November 29, 1919 in Gibsonbury, Ohio and married Dolores Thompson on July 12, 1947 in Wichita, Kansas. Willis came to Big Spring in 1961 from Lafayette, Louisiana with B.J. Services. He retired in 1982 from Ormond and Overton in Midland. He was a lifelong member of First Christian Church. Mr. LeVier was a member of Snyder Masonic Lodge. He was a 32 Degree Mason and had just received his 50 year pin. He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II and received the EAME Campaign Medal with Five Bronze Stars. Survivors include his wife, Dolores LeVier of Big Spring; one son, Roger Lynn LeVier of Pearland; two daughters and sons-in-law, Frances Kay and Leon Hobbs of Big Spring and Amy Dee and Chuck Schultz of Midland; five grandchildren, Michele Schooley, Nicholas LeVier, Kimberly Ward, Derek Hobbs, Bryan Charles Huff and Maria Huff; three great-grandchildren, Ryan Allen Ward, Zachery Schooley and Garrett Schooley; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Derek Hobbs, Bryan Huff, Nicholas LeVier, Ladd Smith, John Gibson and Alan Kernodle. All coffee buddies are considered honorary pallbearers. The family suggests memorials to: First Christian Church, Isaiah 58 Fund, 911 Goliad Big Spring, Texas 79720. The family will receive friends from 5 PM to 7 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.
