Frances Jacqueline “Jackie” Gipson, born to Floyd Holt and Alma Holland Holt in 1931, left this world on April 15, 2023, in Midland, Texas.
Her list of accolades and achievements is as varied as it is long. It ranges from politics to PTA, church activities to cooking and civic volunteering. As wonderful as these were, Jackie would claim her family as her greatest accomplishment. She often stated she was blessed to have loved and been loved by two good men. She and Thomas Edgar Ricks, Sr., married in 1950 and had four children. After Tommy died in 1998, she met and married Douglas L. Gipson. She and Doug moved to Manor Park in 2014 and lived out their lives there. She made wonderful friends and lived an active social life, especially at the dog park.
Jackie is survived by siblings Josie Cullen and Jean and Jerry Holt; her children Sharon Spears, Cathy and Eddie Ricks, Becky and Mike Bryant, and Candy and Terry Rice; seven grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and dozens of friends.
