Frances Elizabeth "Betty" Lane, 65, of Midland, passed away Monday, March 8, 2010.She was born on July 31st, 1944, in San Marcos to Katherine (Falls) and James Ford. She graduated from San Marcos High School in 1961.Betty was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Betty enjoyed water skiing, bowling, quail hunting and golfing. She was an active participant in the lives of her children and grandchildren and was the loudest voice heard at any of their activities or sporting events. She was also a proud Aggie mom. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed. Survivors include husband of 47 years, Radford Lane of Midland; son, Mark and wife Anitha with a baby on the way, of Arlington, Virginia; daughter and son-in-law, Whitney and Gary Hendriex of Midland; grandchildren, Kaylee and Jennifer; sister and brother-in-law, Mary Ann and Ron McGarrah of Bakersfield, California; and nephew, James. She was preceded in death by both of her parents. A memorial will be held at a later date to honor and celebrate Betty's life.The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be given to Hospice Midland, PO Box 2621, Midland, TX 79702.Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Midland. Radford, Whitney and Mark: We were so saddened to hear of your loss of your dear sweet Betty. We knew she had been ill, but didn't know how very much she was. What a sweet,, dear, kind person she was.....it was our pleasure to know her during the 10 years we lived in Midland. She will be a loss to you and your family and we shall be praying to relieve your grief as much as possible. I have relayed this news to Guy and also to Jick.....both of them were very saddened at the news also. We think of you often and if we are ever back in Midland....we shall come visit. Please let me know where Mark lives. I had heard San Antonio, but didnt know if that was still his address. We are only 1 hr. from there.....so if ya'll are ever this way on I=10.....please call and maybe you can play a round of golf with Marion. I worked with Betty at Mr. Hartman's. She always had a smile on her face and brightened the office. My thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time.

All of my sisters and brothers(Jan, Judy and Byron) are sorry for your loss. Betty was a very dear friend in high school.
