Felipe Romero Moron, 84, of Coahoma, died on Wednesday, August 21, 2002, at his residence. A prayer services will be held at 7:00 PM Friday at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel. Funeral services will be at 2:30 PM Saturday, August 24, 2002, at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with Rev. Greg Taylor, pastor of Miracle Revival Center, officiating. Interment will follow at Coahoma Cemetery.
He was born on August 23, 1917 in Brady, Texas and married Martina Ramirez on October 11, 1952 in Big Spring, Texas. Mr. Moron had lived in Coahoma since 1950. He had farmed for over 60 years and was a very hard worker. He played saxophone in the family band, which played for many dances and weddings in the Big Spring area. He had attended St. Joseph Catholic Church in Coahoma.
Survivors include his wife, Martina Moron of Coahoma; four sons, Joe Moron of Big Spring, Fred Moron of Coahoma, Clemente Moron of Brazil, Indiana and Felipe Moron, Jr. of Midland; five daughters, Anita De La Cerda of Palmdale, California, Lynn Young of Brazil, Indiana, Beatrice Deakins of Canon City, Colorado, Gloria Moron of Austin and Olga Strassler of Terre Haute, Indiana; two sisters, Virginia Lopez of Lamesa and Isabel Moreno of Muskegon, Michigan; 13 grandchildren, Juan, Veronica, Michael, Jimmy, Phillip, Jennifer, Mandy, Anthony, Deana, Christina, Brandy, Liam and Amber and one great grandchild, Michael.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister. The family suggests memorials be made to a favorite charity.
