Faye Thurman, 68, of Midland passed away on Friday, February 26, 2016. Faye was born as Margaret Faye Mock on July 24, 1947 in Sealy, Texas to William J. Mock and Margaret Novakoski Mock. Her family moved to Midland in 1955 and Faye began her schooling at St. Ann’s School. She was a member at St. Ann’s Catholic Church for over 60 years. In 1978, she married the love of her life, Harvey Allen Thurman. Faye was extremely outgoing and sassy. She was known to be stubborn, yet very loving and friendly. She never met a stranger and she was always smiling. She was an incredibly loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend. Faye was a very talented writer and had journals full of poems that she had written. She was very crafty and artistic. She used those talents to indulge her hobbies of beading and drawing. There was not much that Faye could not do and did not do exceptionally well. Her favorite role was being “Nana” to her two grandsons, Elijah and Kaleb. She was the activity director at Manor Park in the Helen Greathouse building from September 12, 1994-December 13, 2013. She loved her time with Manor Park and adored all of the friends that she made. Faye’s sense of humor, kindness, and friendship will be greatly missed by all that had the fortune of knowing her.She is survived by her daughter, Natalie Seigler and husband, Aric; grandsons, Elijah Hancock and Kaleb Hancock; brother, William “Bill” J. Mock and wife Sandra; nephew, Kevin Mock; niece, Jenna Tudor; and numerous friends.She is preceded in death by her parents, William and Margaret Mock, and her husband, Harvey A. Thurman.The family would like to express their most sincere gratitude to the staff of Home Hospice, the staff of Health South, Dr. Best of Health South, Midland Memorial Hospital’s oncology nurses, Dr. McLarey, Chaplain Bill Billett, and dear friends Steve Calley and Genie McCartney for all of their loving care and support.Memorial services will be held on Thursday, March 3, 2016, at 4:00pm at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Chapel with Chaplain Bill Billett officiating.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society by clicking the Memorial tab below. ,
