Wilda Faye Nix-Thorp, 85, of Odessa, passed away Saturday February 28, 2026. She will lie in state on Wednesday, March 4, 2026 from 9 am to 9 pm at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home in Big Spring, TX, and the visitation will be held from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm that same day at the funeral home. Graveside services will be at 1:00 pm Thursday, March 5, 2026 at the Peace Chapel at Trinity Memorial Park in Big Spring.
Faye was born November 9, 1940 in Ackerly, TX to Lela Irene Caldwell Nix and Collon Clifton “Dub” Nix. She met and married Ravis Wayne Thorp in Big Spring, TX. They moved to Odessa to begin their lives and build a wonderful future. They had over 60 beautiful years together.
Faye loved gardening, yard work and decorating. She had a natural eye and ability to create and make things beautiful.
Faye is survived by her husband Wayne: one son: Terry Thorp and wife Becky of Odessa; one daughter: Kim Snyder and husband Buddy of Odessa; two sisters: Bonnie Allred and husband Roy; Linda DeWaters and husband Nick, all of Big Spring; 5 grandchildren: Heather Thorp, Jason Thorp, Brance Barber, Edward Snyder and wife Brittany, Alec Snyder; one great granddaughter: Madilyn Snyder and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded by one sister Nancy Bedwell; four brothers: W.R. Nix, L.G. Nix, Richard Nix and Roger Nix.
Arrangements are by Nalley-Pickle Welch Funeral Home.
