Fay Carolyn Allison, 93, of Midland passed away Thursday, August 13, 2009. Private services will be held at a later date.Fay Carolyn Allison was born in 1916 to John Worth Beall and Fannie Gertrude Morris in Fitzgerald, Georgia. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Georgia. She taught school in Georgia, South Carolina, Tennessee and Texas. During World War II, she held civil service jobs at Warner Robins Air Depot in Macon, GA, the Ports of Embarkation at Charleston, SC, New Orleans, LA and the War Department in Washington, DC. She and her husband lived in New Haven, CT, Pampa, TX, Perryton, TX and Oklaunion, TX. They moved to Midland, TX in 1952. She taught school until she retired in 1971. Her husband preceded her in death in 1972.Mrs. Allison was a member of First Baptist Church and was active in the Retired Teachers Organization, The Pyracantha Garden Club, the Daughters of the American Revolution, the United Daughters of the Confederacy and the Senior Center.Carolyn was loved, respected and cherished by all who know her. She will live on in the hearts of all whose paths she crossed.Survivors include a daughter Fay Allison of Novato, CA and a son Glenn Allison of Spring, TX; three sisters, Mrs. Virginia Holtzendorf of Waycross, GA, Mrs. John H. Pace of Keauhou, HI, and Mrs. Elizabeth Shaughnessy of Danville, CA. She was preceded in death by her twin sister, Mrs. R.W.
