Fannie Dobbs, 85, of White Oaks, New Mexico, formerly of Big Spring, died on Monday, June 2, 2008, in Mescalero, New Mexico. Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, June 4, 2008 at the Trinity Memorial Park Peace Chapel with Rev. Mike Couch, Administrator of First Baptist Church, officiating.The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.Mrs. Dobbs was born on February 3, 1923, in Birmingham, Alabama. She married Roy H. Long and he preceded her in death on February 17, 1966. She then married Joe B. Dobbs and he preceded her in death on March 28, 2002.Mrs. Dobbs lived in the White Oaks and Carrizozo, New Mexico area until moving to Midland in 1977 and then in 1984 she moved to Big Spring. She returned to Carrizozo in 2003 to live with her daughter.She was a member of the First Christian Church.Survivors include her daughter, Patsy Dobbs of White Oaks, New Mexico; one stepdaughter, Jody Serrano of Carrizozo, New Mexico; two sisters, Hazel Newton of East Wenatchee, Washington, and Shirley Hornveldt of Kennewick, Washington; three brothers, Sam Gordon of Yuma, Arizona, Henry Gordon of Kennewick, Washington, and Leon Gordon of Tacoma, Washington; four grandchildren, Carrie Spencer, Wayland Dobbs, Jr., Gayann Parker, and Patrick Dobbs; nine great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren.
