F. Gordon \Dogie\ Stone, 91 of Stanton, died on Wednesday, September 24, 2003, in Midland, Texas. Private graveside services will be held for the family. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, September 27, 2003, at the First United Methodist Church, in Stanton with Rev. Gene Weinette, pastor, officiating. Mr. Stone was born on August 23, 1912, in Dumont, Texas and married Mary Inez Campbell on September 1, 1935 in Munday, Texas. She preceded him in death on April 14, 2000.Dogie had lived in the Martin County Community since 1931. He was a member of First United Methodist Church. He was engaged in farming and ranching, was a member of The Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association, Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association, and served as a member of The Board of Directors at First National Bank of Stanton for 53 years.Survivors include his son, Dr. Gordon C. Stone and daughter-in-law, Jacque of Fort Worth; his daughter, Carolyn Stone of Stanton; two grandsons, Wilson Gordon Stone of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania Neil Campbell Stone of Houston; two granddaughters, Mary Kathryn Hurst of Tyler, Leigh Anne Kotarski of Fort Worth and 8 great grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his parents and three siblings.In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to The First United Methodist Church, P.O.
