Ezau Jovvany Melendez, 34, of Big Spring, passed away Sunday, February 19, 2023. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, February 25, 2023 at Iglesia Bautista La Fe Church. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.

Ezau was born April 13, 1988 in Big Spring, Texas to parents Rosa (Reyna) and Andres Melendez. He was a lifetime resident of Big Spring. He married Karina Patricia Lopez in 2011. He worked with his father at Andy’s Custom Welding. He loved being outdoors and fishing with his sons along with BBQueing. He enjoyed learning new skills and trying out new things. He loved being with family and traveling to see friends and family. Distance did not matter to him. He was a member of Iglesia Bautista La Fe Church.

Ezau is survived by his parents: Andy and Rosa Melendez; his sons: Noah Ramos and Ezau Isaac Melendez; his siblings: Xiomara Reyna, Zuleika Melendez, Izandra Castellanos, Izai Melendez, Andres Melendez, Jr., Oscar Melendez, Esmeralda Pena and Blanca Gauger; and numerous other family members.

I’m so sorry for your loss. I honestly don’t know adult EJ. But we were friends in our late teens. We worked together and went to get our GED at the same time. He was one of the most respectful friends I’ve ever had. Every time he came to visit the first thing he did was throw my trash out then ask my kids how their day was. Then end up taking my lighter lol. He’s definitely been missed.
