Evelyn Maxine Johnson, 88, of Duncanville, formerly of Big Spring, died Wednesday, August 15, 2012, in a Duncanville nursing home. Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, August 18, 2012 at the Peace Chapel at Trinity Memorial Park with Rev. Joey Bacon, officiating. She was born December 22, 1923, in Richland, Navarro County, Texas and married Thomas Duke (TD) Johnson, Jr. in 1940 in Big Spring. They were married for 59 years until his death in 2000.The daughter of Richard Allen and Mattie Clyde Fullen, she grew up in Forsan and Big Spring. They lived in Big Spring from 1942 to 1945 while TD served in the United States Army Air Corps stationed at Webb Air Force Base. They also lived in Lamesa and Midland before settling in Kermit in 1953. In 1969, TD and Evelyn moved to Kingsland to live out their retirement years.Survivors include one son, Tommy Johnson of Grand Prairie; one daughter, Sue Johnson of Houston; one sister, Louise Fullen Smith of Big Spring; two brothers, Jerry Fullen of Kermit and Terry Fullen of Midland; two grandchildren and three great grandchildren all of Grand Prairie.
